About Giving Day
Giving Day is Vanderbilt’s most impactful fundraising tradition. On April 11, 2024, we’re calling on all students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents and community members to make a gift of any size.
You decide where your dollars make an impact at VU. Whether your heart is in athletics, research labs, supporting students or investing in a specific school, the choice is yours. Every gift makes an impact on our $3.2 billion Dare to Grow campaign, giving more students access to a world-class education, investing in innovation, and connecting our community.
The Commodore community is known for joining forces to make amazing things happen. This Giving Day, people from all over the world and all 50 states have given gifts that will make Vanderbilt even better in every way. We want to say a big thank you for your kindness.
We're especially grateful to the more than 6,000 individuals who pitched in to raise a total of $9.4 million in gifts today and the campaign leaders who set up 47 challenges to inspire additional gifts. You are helping our Dare to Grow initiative, which supports scholarships, discoveries, building a strong community and making everyone feel like they belong at Vanderbilt.
As the weekend approaches, we encourage you to keep up the spirit of giving. Let's tackle some of the challenges that are still left, share stories about how Vanderbilt has touched our lives and feel proud of all the amazing things we're accomplishing together.

819 days ago by Stephanie BursetThe Vanderbilt Board of Trust cares deeply about giving back across Vanderbilt and believes that gifts of any size to any area of campus on Giving Day come together to make a big impact for the future of Vanderbilt. That’s why at each donor milestone of 2,000, 4,000, 6,000 and 7,500 donors, a $100,000 gift will be unlocked from four of our Trustees for a total of $400,000.
At Vanderbilt, Giving Day is a tradition that celebrates each and every member of our community, the lasting ties that unite us and the bold future we share.
Every gift is a testament to our collective commitment, and affirms our shared belief in the power of Vanderbilt to become the great university of the 21st century and to do nothing less than change the world.
Your gift, whether it’s one dollar or $1 million, drives momentum.
